Job Interview Preparation

Land the job you want.
Build the life you deserve.

One-on-one coaching to help you earn trust, communicate your value clearly, and get hired. Without pretending to be someone you’re not.

Resumes get you interviews; they don’t get you hired.

Dozens of applications. No responses. Silence after interviews. Rejections with no feedback.

When progress stalls, confidence starts to crack. Stress shows in your posture, your voice, your answers. You second-guess yourself. You try harder. That urgency starts working against you, and the cycle feeds on itself.

Here’s what most people miss: you’re seeing yourself in only two dimensions.

You focus on the job description: the skills, the tools, the bullet points everyone lists. But that’s only part of the picture. Maybe 25%. The other 75% is harder to see.

How you think through messy problems. The judgment calls you make. How you earn trust, calm teams, and move things forward under pressure.

You take this part for granted because it comes naturally.

But if you can’t see it clearly, you can’t explain it, and others can’t value it.

With focused, expert coaching, you learn to see yourself clearly. So you can explain your value with confidence and show up grounded. Not desperate.

You’re more qualified than you realize

I know what it’s like to feel stuck. To start wondering if you’re problem.

After 16 years with one company, my role was eliminated. I threw myself into a job search: tailoring cover letters, networking, prepping for interviews. But nothing was working. The harder I tried, the more desperate I started to feel.

Then a recruiter asked me something simple but profound.

A profound, unexpected question

“On an average week or day, what do you do. And how much time do you spend on each?”

After 15 very long seconds, I laid out exactly what I do best: develop strategy, advise leaders, manage risk, and deliver results, hoping the percentages added up. Not my strong suit.

That moment reminded me I wasn’t just a “communications professional.” I was operating as a strategic partner. Someone who translates strategy into action and helps organizations move through change.

That question was a gift. It helped me unlock my value, tell a clearer story, and show up with a much greater understanding — and appreciation — of what I had actually accomplished professionally.

You don’t have to spend months second-guessing your worth. Together, we’ll pinpoint what actually differentiates you. So you can show up with clarity, earn trust, and move forward with purpose.

Help that makes a difference

See your work more clearly

Most people focus too narrowly on what they do. Not how they do it or why it matters. We’ll help you see your experience differently. So the real value of your work becomes clear, especially the parts you’ve been overlooking.

Collect the right proof

You’ll identify and refine high-impact examples from your past work, stories that demonstrate credibility, capability, and leadership in action. These aren’t talking points. They’re real examples you’ll rely on again and again.

Expect a challenge — but one worth facing

This work is harder than writing a résumé. There’s no job description to follow. You’ll need to reflect, rethink, and sometimes reconsider how you see yourself and describe your work. But we’ll guide you through it. And what you find may surprise you.

What we discover together becomes the foundation for how you communicate, connect, and move forward.

A proven process

1

Schedule a conversation

Everything starts with a focused conversation.

We’ll talk about where you’re stuck, what you’re aiming for, and what’s been getting in the way. Not just the job search. Not just tactically. But how you’re approaching the process.

This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a chance to slow things down, get clear, and see whether working together makes sense.

A simple first step. No pressure. Just clarity.

2

Do the work that most people avoid

Getting hired isn’t about sharper answers. It’s about clearer thinking.

This work starts with slowing down and taking a real look at how you operate; solve problems; and make decisions when things aren’t clear, along with how your judgment shows up in real situations.

Some people prefer to do this discovery work independently, with structure and guidance. Others want to work through it together, in conversation, with direct feedback.

Either way, the goal is the same: to see your real value clearly enough to explain it simply.

3

Get hired for the right reasons

When you see your value clearly, others do too.

You show up grounded. Your answers land. People trust your judgment. The conversation shifts from “Are they qualified?” to “How would we work with this person?”

That’s when interviews stop feeling like auditions. Start feeling like real discussions.

Not because you performed better. Because you were clearer.

This work meets you where you are, and scales to what you need.

Frequently asked questions

What makes this different from outplacement services or résumé writers?

Outplacement services are paid for by employers, usually when they eliminate jobs, to ease the transition of people who are displaced. Although these firms can provide highly personalized support, they’re rarely engaged to deliver that level of service to everyone affected. Many professionals who receive outplacement help need — or want — something more human, strategic, and customized.

That’s where we come in. Our work is personal. We develop your stories together, rehearse your delivery, and help you show up with substance and clarity.

Although the work we do often strengthens your résumé and social media profiles, that’s a bonus — not the primary goal.

In select cases, I offer reduced-fee coaching to early-career professionals from underrepresented or disadvantaged communities,  especially when financial need and personal readiness align. Merit and motivation matter as much as background.

The first consultation can be used however you need: to ask questions, discuss a specific challenge, or assess fit. These are typically 30–45 minutes. After that, any additional sessions are billed at $250 unless part of a package.

Don’t see your question? We’re happy to answer any you may have. No pressure, no obligation.
